Pictures are worth a 1,000 words

I came across this graphic illustration that compares the current recession and other recent ones. I've read the numbers and the descriptions, but this puts the situation in good graphic terms.

Thanks for the tip. Interesting. Especially this note:

"Another lesson brought home by the chart is how weak the recovery from the 2001 recession was. It was a mild recession, but it took four years for employment to return to its February 2001 peak."

This is what we were protesting during the Bush Administration. Boosting corporate profits, not fostering real economic development, was the priority of the Bush Administration.
